Conservatory

YEAR LONG (18 Classes Each):

Trinitas Arts Conservatory offers year-long courses in technical theatre and performance for Rosary Academy and Servite High School Students. All year-long classes are held in or near the Servite Theatre from 3:30 - 4:50 on select Thursdays. A schedule is emailed prior to the first class. Year-Long classes are $750 for the year.

ACTING I
THURSDAYS, 3:30-5:00
FACULTY: MS. LILLIAN BETTS; MR. JACOB HAREN
PREREQUISITE: NONE
This class is a foundation for all future work at TAC. Students will learn to work as an ensemble and begin developing storytelling, monologues, and scenes. Other projects may include improv, movement, or voice. This course is geared for students who have not yet studied theatre in high school, though some may have experience from elementary school or junior high.

ACTING II
THURSDAYS, 3:30-5:00
FACULTY: MR. JEFFREY LANDMAN
PREREQUISITE: GRADES 10-12, ACTING I
Building upon the principles and techniques learned in Acting I, this course further delves into the study of acting. This class will take a close look at Script/Character analysis, Script Scoring, Objectives, Tactics, Tempo/Rhythm, and Adjustments. This class requires a year of theatre experience at the high school level.

ACTING III/IV

PREREQUISITE: GRADES 11-12, ACTING II,
This advanced-level class will build on the ensemble with an emphasis on theatre genres, styles, and acting methods. This course is a continuation of the study of voice and movement. This class will culminate in a production, separate from our Spring Showcase. This class requires two to three years of theatre experience at the high school level.

TECHNICAL THEATRE I

PREREQUISITE: NONE
This class is a foundation for any student interested in learning about technical theatre.  Course topics include lighting, sound, set shop, stage management, and production coordination.  This class combines classroom work with hands-on experiences.  There is no previous training or experience necessary.  Students from this class will receive priority on crew assignments in productions. 

TECHNICAL THEATRE II

PREREQUISITE: BEGINNING TECHNICAL THEATRE. 
Building upon the elements learned in Beginning Technical Theatre, this class goes in-depth with topics that include design, sound, lights, and shop. Students from this class will receive top priority on crew/crew head assignments.

TECHNICAL THEATRE III/IV
THURSDAYS, 3:30-5:00

PREREQUISITE: INTERMEDIATE TECHNICAL THEATRE. 
Building upon the elements learned in Intermediate Technical Theatre, this class goes in-depth with topics that include more intricate and complicated sound and light design, scenic design, and special effects.  
 

ELECTIVES (6 Classes Each):

Trinitas Arts Conservatory offers elective courses in the Fall, Winter and Spring for 6-week periods.  At the end of each session, the students work is presented at a showcase. Classes are held at the Servite Theatre on select Thursdays from 5:00 – 6:20 and 6:20 - 8:00

FALL 

MUSICAL THEATRE - $375

CLASS IS REPEATABLE.
This class will help students select, prepare, and present a musical theatre song for auditions and showcase their talent. No experience necessary—singers and non-singers welcome!

STAGE MANAGEMENT - $325

CLASS IS REPEATABLE.
In a thoroughly comprehensive class, students will learn the ins and outs of stage management from preparing for auditions and running a rehearsal, all the way to strike.  The class will culminate in a session where students will call mock shows with problems thrown at them, which they will have to solve in the moment. ALL STUDENTS WISHING TO STAGE MANAGE OR ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGE A TRINITAS PRODUCTION MUST TAKE AND PASS THIS CLASS.

TECH FOCUS: VIDEO PRODUCTION - $325

CLASS IS REPEATABLE.
Dive into the world of lighting in this hands-on course focused on video production and design for the theatre.  Students will learn the fundamentals of video production, including equipment operation and effects creation.  Gain practical experience in video camera work for live performances, enhancing your technical skills and creativity in the theatre arts.  STRONGLY RECOMMENDED FOR STUDENTS INTERESTED IN VIDEO CREW.

BEGINNING MAKEUP DESIGN - $375 (includes materials)

FOR GRADES 9-12
CLASS IS REPEATABLE.
This hands-on course will teach the basics of theatrical makeup, including color theory, makeup sanitation, use of basic tools and makeup products, basic makeup techniques, and effects. No experience is necessary.

MUSICAL THEATRE DANCE - $325

FOR GRADES 9-12
CLASS IS REPEATABLE.
This class will include warm-ups, across-the-floors, and a different combination each week in a different Broadway style of dance.  Whether students are beginners looking to strengthen skills or advanced dancers looking to refine technique and expand dance vocabulary, this class is for dancers at any level.

TAP DANCE - $325
THURSDAYS, 6:30 – 8:00

AGES 13 AND UP - PARENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SIGN UP AS WELL
CLASS IS REPEATABLE.
This class will include a different tap combination each week.  Whether students are beginners looking to strengthen skills or advanced dancers looking to refine tap technique and vocabulary, this class is for tappers at any level.

WINTER

CABARET - $450 (plus 10 ticket sales required for WinterFest 2027)

CLASS IS REPEATABLE.
Create a musical performance about your life through song. Students will develop and perform their own one-person act. Recommended for juniors and seniors with some theatre experience. Musical Theatre Class and Acting I are strongly recommended prior to taking this class.  There will be two mandatory additional class sessions TBD to help with choosing material and rehearsal time.  Cabaret will be performing at 3:00 on Sunday, January 31 as part of Trinitas Winterfest 2027 (with a tech rehearsal the day of beginning at 11:30).  Cabaret students must sell a minimum of 10 tickets to this event.
This class is for the serious musical theatre student only.  Assignments for work outside of class will be given weekly and are due at the next session.

TECH BOOTH PRODUCTION CLASS - $325

CLASS IS REPEATABLE.
Students are given practical instruction on our Light Board, Sound Board, Video Cameras, and the various computers supporting theatre operation.  Then, students pick a focus and complete a project, using and further building their skills while using the actual devices in our tech booth.  This class is repeatable - there are many different project options.  Class is tailored to your tech experience.

INTERMEDIATE MAKEUP DESIGN - $375 (includes materials)

PREREQUISITE: BEGINNING MAKEUP DESIGN
This hands-on course will build on the Fall Session Make-Up class with a focus on expanding knowledge of tools including airbrush, three-dimensional buildups, and designing looks for shows. Completion of Basic Makeup Design is a prerequisite.

SPRING

SELF TAPE MASTERY - $325

FOR GRADES 9-12
CLASS IS REPEATABLE.
Learn how to record a strong self-tape audition. Students will learn how to set up lighting, sound, and the camera, choose an appropriate background, frame themselves correctly, and perform naturally for the camera. We will also practice reading sides, making clear acting choices, taking direction, and submitting a professional-looking audition. Perfect for college apps!

STAGE COMBAT - $325

CLASS IS REPEATABLE.
Learn the art of safe, dynamic stage fighting.  This class trains students in the fundamentals of unarmed combat and choreographed swordplay, focusing on technique, safety, storytelling, and performance precision.

PLAYWRIGHTING - $325
